Air Handling Units

Most commercial and industrial buildings utilize air handling systems to provide ventilation air, remove or add moisture, and transfer heat to or from the space. The systems have varying degrees of complexity and due to age, inadequate control, and design deficiencies, where there are opportunities to improve performance and conserve energy. Our engineers have years of experience in evaluating air handling systems, understanding their existing operation and identifying cost effective upgrades that will improve comfort levels and significantly reduce energy consumption.

Bluestone has designed and installed numerous efficiency upgrades to air handling systems including:

  • Variable Frequency Drives on fans
  • Conversion of Constant Volume Systems to Variable Air Volume
  • Conversion of DX cooling to Chilled Water Cooling
  • Energy Management System Controls
  • Electronically Commutated (ECM) Motors in fan powered boxes
  • Heat recovery systems including heat pipes and pumped glycol
  • CO2 control of outside air
