Energy Audit Details

The energy audit is a scoping review of the facility systems by an experienced energy engineer to determine the potential for cost effective energy conservation projects. It typically consists of a "walkthrough" of the facility and about an hour's worth of discussion with a knowledgeable operations person. From this, we can usually understand the type and operation of the existing lighting, heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC), and process systems.

With this field information we develop a list of potential energy conservation opportunities (ECOs) that identifies potential savings and estimated installed costs. We then meet with the facility contact person to present our findings and discuss the ECOs. This preliminary work is provided at no charge.

For ECOs that require further analysis to qualify for utility incentives, we provide a proposal to perform the analysis. This analysis is typically 50% funded by the utility and 50% funded by the customer. The result of the analysis is a report that identifies the accurate savings for each ECO and the actual installed cost for the ECO. The utility uses the report to determine the applicable incentive they will pay for the ECO. With this information the customer can then make an informed decision regarding installation of the ECO.

We tailor our initial audits and analysis to the customers needs.
